The Delta and Alabama Black Belt
The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) was established in 2000 as a formal framework for joint federal-state collaboration to promote and encourage the economic development of the lower Mississippi River region and Alabama Black Belt regions. These states are
DRA collaborates with local, state, and federal leaders to make investments into projects supporting transportation infrastructure, basic public infrastructure, workforce training, and business development. In addition, DRA works with a number of federal partners on programs designed to promote development and growth in economically distressed communities.
